ABOUT US

Sports club Jablonica was founded in 2012.

A group of amateur athletes who played floorball decided in the summer to start running to get in shape. Palko Poláček and Tomáš Zavadil got the idea to run home from Dolna Raková, which is approx. 8 km. It worked and they've been running ever since. A few months later, they tried their first cross-country race, which was part of the Moravian-Slovak Cross-Country Cup. In the following season, they agreed to collect points in this cup and Tomáš managed to place. Their enthusiasm grew so much that they decided to organize the first running race under the auspices of our village under the name Jablonická desiatka - Felix Rímeš Memorial in the spring of 2012. At that time, Michala Martišová, Karol Klásek, Dušan Tomek, Marcela Polakovičová, born . Kocúriková and others. The MSBP also included races in children's and youth categories, and Palko had the idea "let's train children".

Based on this, a club was founded on 23 November 2012 under the name Športový klub Jablonica. They started training once a week with minimal experience in athletics. Three of us started training - Poláček, Zavadil, Martišová.

Over time, the coaches began to be educated, other coaches were added - Klásek, Kubica. A cooperation was established with the experienced club AŠK Skalica, under which our athletes competed in the Slovak Athletics Association races, which started overall athletics, not just running. In 2016, we included the Children's Athletics project in the training process. The membership base grew rapidly until our club became independent as of 2019 within the SAZ.

Last year, new coaches were added - Polakovičovci and Zíšek. Currently, younger groups train three times a week, and older categories train every day, sometimes even in two phases. Our athletes are gradually reaching higher age categories, which increases the needs of the club. We cooperate with professional clubs, SAZ, physiotherapists, doctors, the National Sports Center and support from the primary school and the municipality of Jablonica has increased.

In cooperation with everyone who supports us, we are improving the sports field. A tartan track (150 m) with a ski jump was built, a three-track straight was roofed, a discus throwing sector was built, a gymnasium was adapted for training throwing, throwing and jumping disciplines during the winter training. This is how our club earned its place among the best in Slovakia.

During the last years, we have expanded the branch of the club to include cycling, which is led by Andrej Hološka.

Currently, the club has 8 coaches, approximately 60 children and youth members and 10 adults. The president of the club is Bozena Zavadilová.

In 2022, it was possible to score in the SAZ competitions in the leading places in all categories. Some of our athletes are among the best with participation in the Slovak national team.
